Parkview Church’s senior pastor, together with the session, leads the body of Christ at Parkview in casting and clarifying the vision of the church and providing the leadership and oversight necessary to enact that vision through the ministries and people of the church. While strong leadership skills are required, a team approach with the staff, leadership, and church body will necessarily characterize leadership efforts. The senior pastor leads, preaches, shepherds, disciples, encourages, coaches, challenges, trains, counsels, and guides the congregation, typifying a servant-leader attitude, bearing, and style.
The senior pastor will directly supervise the Next Generation Pastor, worship director, and the administrator. This supervision will entail regular staff meetings, completing annual reviews, and other duties as required and/or requested by the session. It is also expected that the senior pastor will lead at least one men’s discipleship group, typically held weekly. The senior pastor will also be required to attend presbytery and general assembly meetings on a consistent and regular basis.
Candidates for the senior pastor position must possess a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent and be ordained in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). While experience serving as a senior or associate pastor is preferred, such experience is not required. Salary and benefits will be negotiated based on education and experience.
