About

Parkview Church

Parkview Church exists to glorify God by passionately pursuing Him and compassionately caring for people.

We desire to become a community of God-centered believers who rest and delight in the transforming Gospel of Grace. We are eager to use ours spiritual gifts to make disciples who live out the message and ministry of Christ in our homes, communities, and the world.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit or foreseen faith.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who, through His perfect life and sacrificial death, atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

We believe that God, according to His Covenant promises, is gracious and faithful to His people, not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Core Values

1.  Centrality Of The Word Of God – We believe that Scripture is the only inspired and authoritative guide for faith and practice.  Therefore, we value preaching and teaching which is Scripture-driven, applicable and relevant to people’s lives, expository in nature and reformed in theology.  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

2. Authentic Worship – We believe that our greatest purpose in life is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.  Therefore, we desire to worship God with faithfulness to Scripture and with passion, relevance, creativity, and excellence. “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.  God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24).

3. Intimate Community – We believe that Christ built His Church to be a family with Christ as the Head.  Jesus called us to be unified with one another (John 17:20-23) and to love one another (John 15:10-12).  Through our love, others will be attracted to our community and to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Therefore, we actively seek to promote fellowship, integrity, and honesty in our relationships with one another and warm acceptance of visitors.  We also value every member of our community: children, youth, and all adults regardless of culture, status or situation in life.

4.  Persistent Prayer – We recognize that God delights in working powerfully through the prayers of His people.  We believe that all of our work depends upon the faithfulness and power of God and not on ourselves.  Therefore, we seek to pray frequently with each other and for each other.  “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”  (James 5:16).

5. Kingdom-Building Mindset – We believe that Jesus commissioned His Church to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20) to fill His kingdom with believers who are growing and active in their faith.  Therefore, we strive to equip every member for the work of evangelism and discipleship.  This involves building relationships with neighbors and co-workers, reaching out to the needy in our community with real life-on-life involvement, actively and creatively exposing people to the Gospel of Christ, and building people into maturing followers of Christ.  “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).  “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ” (Colossians 1:28).
